Day 1: Nairobi – Transfer to Samburu
You will be picked from your Nairobi hotel at 7.30 am after the breakfast and depart for Samburu passing through the equator line to Samburu land. Arrive with a short game drive en route to the lodge/camp for lunch. After lunch, relax before a game drive at 4p.m till late. Samburu Park has unique residents including the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy's Zebra, Beisa Oryx and the Blue legged Somali Ostrich.
Day 2: Samburu – Full day
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in search of unique northern Kenya species such as the reticulated giraffe, beisa oryx, Grevy's zebra, and the long-necked gerenuk. Much of the reserve consists of desert landscape; dusty red plains broken by thorny scrub, featuring dramatic views of table top Mt Ol Olokwe on the horizon. All meals are taken at the lodge/camp. Overnight:
Day 3: Samburu – Transfer to Sweetwater's
Depart Samburu after breakfast arriving in time for lunch at Sweetwater's Wildlife Sanctuary. This is a beautiful private game reserve and home to rare species such as Beisa Oryx, Rothschild's giraffe and black rhino. Game drives here reveal the full range of African wildlife including lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant and hippo. Enjoy a private visit with the tame animals at the wildlife orphanage. Observe chimps at the Chimpanzee Sanctuary as well. Dinner and overnight in the lodge.
Day 4: Sweet waters –Lake Nakuru
Have breakfast then depart for Lake Nakuru arriving before lunch time, Lunch will be served in the lodge before proceeding for afternoon gamedrive to see one of the largest ornithological spots, Flamingo, and a variety of wildlife not forgetting the famous white Rhino and black rhino found in this park. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge
Day 5: Lake Nakuru –Maasai Mara
After breakfast leave Lake Nakuru for Masai Mara arriving in time for lunch. You will have a gamedrive as you head to the camp/lodge for lunch. Another game drive will be at 4p.m. Look out for Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, Buffalo. Overnight: Sarova/Serena/Fairmont Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 6 & 7: Masai Mara – Full day game drives
These 2 whole days will be spent with morning and afternoon game drives that lead one to some of Africa's largest lion prides, herds of zebra, antelopes, buffaloes, wildebeest, giraffes, cheetahs, and hyenas. In between game drives, there will be picnic lunch along the banks of Mara River. Overnight: Sarova/Serena/Fairmont Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 8: Maasai Mara – Transfer to Nairobi
Early morning game drive, return to the lodge for your breakfast and later leave for Nairobi arriving in the afternoon.
Alternatively, spend the afternoon visiting Giraffe Centre, Karen Blixen or Kazuri Beads to buy souvenirs. All these are optional and at extra cost. Later, you can have dinner which is followed by a drop off at the airport for your flight back home or hotel of your choice.
